Dog is a man's best friend, right? I think it's every dog owners dream that one day their kids will be best friend with the dog - it'll sleep at the foot of their bed, they will spend nights together in tents in the backyard, and their memories will be full of stories of the 'best dog ever' from growing up. Rocky and Maggie may not be best friends yet, but she sure loves him. Within the last month she has even taken to giving him LONG hugs around the neck that he has nicely tolerated. You can imagine my shock when last Sunday the two had a not-so-pleasant run in. I have to say, if it's any one's fault it's probably Maggie's. She was bounding around on the couch (I was next to her feeling like death with a killer sinus infection and unable to take anything to help me with it) and she decided to bound off the couch to Rocky. Rocky was sleeping at the bottom of the couch and did not expect her to jump onto him, wanting to share her toys. The next 2 seconds had Rocky launching in the air, barking (a rare occurrence) and somehow - either he bit her or it was the collision when he barked - Maggie ended up with a cut on the head from his tooth. It was crazy. Rocky felt terrible, I was crying, and Maggie (after about a minute of crying) just wanted to play with her toys. After a call into the doctor's office and to Mark (out getting me Pho for lunch) we were told to head to the ER to get her stitched up.

Maggie watching Elmo on Mark's phone, waiting for the Doctor to come back and put some liquid stitches on her head.

Home after a trying afternoon at Overlake ER- loving the attention and treat of getting to watch more Elmo!
