By March, Charlie was ready to be doing more than just one morning at Patti's while Maggie got to spend three mornings at Kid Magic each week. Since Patti's was full he had to continue to spend most of his mornings with me. This picture shows how "over it" he was. I found him laying in his chair, staring at a TV that wasn't even on. Poor kid. ;)
Playing in Hayden's crib. Maggie and Charlie just love Hayden, and it's so great that they just live a few blocks away. (And yes, that is a bloody nose he is sporting. No big deal - doesn't take away from the crib bouncing fun).
Rainy day at the zoo - we happened to be there while the snake decided to take a dump. You can see Charlie's face as he is very concerned at what he is seeing in front of him.
Maggie is a tender heart. She loves her friends and wants to have everyone happy. When she is hurt by someone or upset, she bottles it up and can take days to tell us what has gone on. On this day, she broke down in tears on the way to school. She revealed that her two little buddies told her they wouldn't play with her because she was friends with some of the boys and they didn't want her playing with them. My heart broke for her. She had been holding this in for two days - finally to burst with the info on the way to school. It was one of those moments that you realize this is just the beginning of issues like these in her life - and all you can do is be there for her and try to help her get through it, when what you really want to do is go yell at those girls for being bratty, bossy punks (not really, but yes, moments of that feeling did come through). After dropping a crying/upset Maggie off at school, Mark got a call from a crying/upset wife with her heart breaking for their daughter. Apparently he felt a bit the same, because he decided to surprise both me and her and pick her up from school that day (his lunch time) so he could be there to bring her flowers. It was the sweetest, most amazing thing. She still talks about it and it brought me to tears when they walked in the door - her holding these beautiful flowers with the biggest smile ever and he coming in behind her to say goodbye and race back to work. Little girls and their daddies - what a wonderful thing!!
Oh - and there is this. We had to make Charlie's crib a toddler bed after he mastered getting out of it again even with special made sleep sacks to keep him in. Love this pick I took of him one night - half out of his bed and fully asleep.
