After watching Maggie swim for a few months from the pool deck, it was finally time for Charlie to start swimming! This is the only picture we have of the first day because about 2 minutes after we took this he started crying when he realized he had to go in the water. The crying lasted for the ENTIRE 30 minutes of class. Poor little buddy, he was crying "no" and screaming for "momma and dadda" over and over again. Maggie takes her classes at the same time, so we tried to just pretend we were watching her and not make eye contact with Charlie. Thankfully the director of the pool came over and assured us that as long as we were ok with him crying, it didn't bother them. Good thing - because he cried that way for the next 3 classes. His poor teacher looked like she hated life! But, all of sudden on class 5 (goes 2x a week) he decided he wanted to swim. Since then he's been loving it. He passed his Guppy class and moved onto P1. He's a rockstar kicker, bubble blower, and jump-into-the-pool kid. Floating on his back is not something he cares to do, so I think we'll be in P1 for awhile...
